The Luxe Effect: opulent treats for every bride

When you're shopping for your wedding, you can get so caught up in flowers, catering, place holders, confetti...yadda, yadda, yadda. Sometimes those little treats that will really help create a special feel to the proceedings can get lost in the melee. So to help you refocus, here is our dedicated selection of extravagant (not necessarily bank-breaking) purchases that will make you feel like a princess on your wedding day (and afterwards!)

Take this delectable 'Eternal Blossom' makeup compact from the Marcel Wanders Collection at Decorté (£250) available here. It would be a welcome addition to anyone's handbag and is perfect for a quick dusting of light pink blush to refresh your look.

These super cute ballerina flats are perfect for achy feet but still look super pretty...these are the Emma Ivory shoes from Kate Whitcomb.

As things wind down, one might be hankering for a romantic night cap, and of course you need to dress for the occasion. For the ultimate in opulence, you'll feel like a true Hollywood starlet in this exquisite silk robe from Evgenia, £13500 (yes it's pricey but, how nice?!)

But of course, the outfit is not complete without a bit of sparkle. Why not treat yourself to a new ring? Yes, yes, you'll be getting a wedding band, but a lady can never have enough jewels. Vintage rings can be expensive but this princess cut blue topaz, Deco style ring from Fool's Gold is only £105 and really looks the part.

And as any bride knows, along with quaffing champagne while wearing a beautiful dress, one simply must nibble luxurious chocolates – and joy oh joy, I found the perfect ones to round off the super-luxe effect…yum! These delectable balls of delight are created by the same chocolate makers that the HRH the Queen uses. If you've never indulged before, what are you waiting for? Pink Marc de Champagne Truffles from Fortnum & Mason, £24.95.

After an evening of dancing and other such delights, a lady should retire to her room with her new husband/wife and what better way to relax than to slip off your shoes and pop on some comfy slippers, and pour a drink. Birdies, the Aussie footwear icons have created the Songbird bridal slides in different hues, but we like the 'Blush'. They are reminiscent of 1950's fluffy slippers but uber chic, super comfortable and very, very pretty.

Finally, before retiring, a spritz of perfume is a must. Diptyque is one of Vintage Bride's favourite fragrance houses. The L’Eau des Sens is a floral scent that really is exquisite containing a delicious bitter orange that really zings the senses. Available from Liberty London and comes in a eau de toilette, a parfum and hair mist.

Enjoy your indulgences darlings!
